Closer inspection reveals it was a DVD player.
My guess is that holiday weekend plus booze plus warm weather plus malfunctioning DVD player pushed someone over the edge.

I'd wager asking someone who has just lost it enough to throw a whole puter out of a window, isn't going to be in a good frame of mood for a while and possibly a bit unhinged naturally. I pour tea on mine to make it suffer when it annoys me.
