Speaking as an Indian, I was wondering if people in here like paratha. I have been very surpised to see it unavailable in the places Ihave been here and in Swindon. It is very typical Indian.

Next time you have a curry, get them to bung a boiled egg in it. (It may be the 'Bombay' option.) ('Bomb bay' would have been a better name.) You'll see. Or rather, smell.Originally posted by d000hg View PostWhy would having hard-boiled egg in the curry have that effect? This is a sauce-neutral poll

I rarely see either round here... chicken, lamb or prawn is the normal choice on the non-vegetarian side.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostThe vast majority of Indian restaurants/takeaways in the UK are owned by muslim Bangladeshis - hence beef being on the menu and pork not.

Because although that's what you might get, you won't see it on the menu. Ergo you don't choose it.Originally posted by zeitghostWhy no option for Alsation or cat?

you may find this funny because you specify meat in your quistion but I have to be quite honest and say that in my opion there is nothing better than a vegetable thali. This is very popular in the part of India I come from and is normally served on a silver platter.

Very good! I really like okra AKA bhindi AKA ladies fingers in a curry. I was in Chennai earlier this month and most restaurants are veggie; had a superb okra curry there.

The whole point of the curry is that it doesn't matter what kind of meat it is surely. Or even whether it has gone off a bit.
