There's no reason for organic eggs not to be white. The egg shell colour is down to genetic variability among the chickens. Organic is to do with how the chickens are fed and looked after. People selling their produce from their front garden is a thing here as well. In the Lauterbrunnen valley, I found a vending machine that took credit cards, notes and coins, full of stuff from the nearby farm.

They are fed organic...well, stuff, whatever chickens eat. No idea why eggs are so expensive in CH though, I mean it's not like they haven't got enough roaming areas for chickens.

Btw the crazy price was from Migros's own organic sister label, whatever it's called, no idea if that makes it similar to Waitrose / M&S in terms of prices or whether it's more of a mid range kind of place.

Hi all,

I work in Infosec as a contractor.

I was working in UK, went to work in Amsterdam for a while, came down to Portugal on a fully remote role and the project got cancelled so I was given notice :-(

Also, split up with wife (the day before I got given notice). All good, can't hurt me as Goggins says.

So here I am, fully remote is proving difficult to find, so I am looking to go to where the work is.

I could go to the UK, rates are looking decent and the market appears bouyant. Rates in CH look great, but cost of living is high. I am still setup for contracting in NL, so thats an option. UAE has piqued my interest. I hear Luxembourg pays well.

Else it's stay here / Thailand / Bali / Mexico and either forget about work for a while, or wait for the elusive fully remote to come along.

Can anyone make any recommendations? I'm looking for ideas for somewhere to go, good money, plenty of demand, decent taxes (though I am thinking of becoming / keeping Portuguese tax resident)...

I *think* wouldn't mind doing a contract in Dubai.. any feedback on that as an option?

Dubai. I have been lucky enough to travel to lots of places during my lifetime and have spent quite a bit of time in Dubai this year. Without a shadow of a doubt the best City I have ever been to. If I were young I would 100% move there permanently. Its super clean, transport including taxis ultra cheap, best shopping centres in the world, best hotels in the world but the big clinchers are that its an incredibly safe place and its tax laws are ideal for contractors.

Well I'm sure for CH people it's normal, but having paid £13 for a box of eggs in some organic shop (friends there only eat organic...it's a long story) I beg to differ

Also, who knew drugs can cost so much, go smth for a bladder infection and mosquito bites and paid £60

On the other hand, Zurich airport with it's family area better than most UK nurseries and toilets cleaner than your own home one is just on another level. So you pay through the teeth but actually see something back. Also people seemed very nice, even though I stuck to English.
