Agreed - The website looks like it was optimised for Netscape Navigator.
I retract my poorly researched off the cuff remarks.

Well then. Proper Job.A village pub has received a framed apology from the publishers of one of the world's biggest fashion magazines.
The Star Inn at Vogue pub in Cornwall had been asked to change its name by Vogue magazine's publishers as it might "cause problems".
Publishers Conde Nast later apologised and the pub has now received a framed version of the apology.
The parcel included a handwritten note that said: "From one Vogue to another - please accept our apologies."

We had a similar threat to my small company from another company years ago. Was rubbish, these rights only apply if both companies are in the same sector. Fortunately we were ensured and the lawyers saw them off.

To be fair I was thinking the same thing, I assumed from the location you were right and it was milking the tourist trade for £25 burgers. I was somewhat surprised to find the total opposite.Originally posted by TheDude View Post

Nothing about the website, prices, meat draw or Judy's Karaoke sounds poncy to me.

AIUI if they find an organisation with a similar name they have to challenge it. Now if they had written a nice letter saying that the Vogue part can't be used on its own for a business and definitely not in Publishing (what the law says) then set up an event there it would have been seen as a sensible reply to the situation.Originally posted by d000hg View PostSurely they should be suing the parish council over the name of the place? Yes because the local off-license and Sainsburys/Morrisons can easily be confused with each other.Originally posted by vetran View Post
oh that definitely looks like 'passing off'
I never knew that local off-licence existed until Sainsburys send the "cease and desist" letter and it was all over the media.
Likewise I didn't know the Star Inn at Vogue existed and there was a place called Vogue.....
