    Even if you accept the premise there's some very surprising stuff on the list - bint, harelip etc

    Plain old swear words such as wank, c*** etc are still allowed.

    On the plus side, I played a scrabble tournament last weekend and beat my opponent after challenging her LEZ (one of the removed words) thus denying her around 50 points
    I actually assumed there was a list of banned words already including the stronger swear words. More interesting that most are still allowed, leads to awkwardness if a kid wins a big tournament with a triple-word score on ****er.

    TPTB have decided to remove slur words from the official scrabble dictionary. This came into effect for UK tournament after Easter.
