Weirdest one on my local facebook page recently was parents setting up a gofundme page to try send their daughter (apparently a talented musician) to a top college in the USA. Each to their own, but it didn't seem to be gaining much traction with the local community...

Instead we re-mortgaged, maxed out a credit card and used all of the family savings....you know, the 'old fashioned' way of dealing with things.
The 'old fashioned' way of dealing with things would usually involve letting nature take its course and having another sprog. Depending on how far you wish to go back in history, obviously.

What an absolutely and utterly bizarre take - it's not that families fault you didn't want to ask or accept help. Nobody is forcing you to donate, and like you didn't ask for a poorly child, they didn't ask for their child to be killed. I honestly, no matter how hard I try, can't figure out your problem.

It's not like the concept of charitable giving is a new thing.

Just as an aside, why did you have to go private for an urgently needed operation?

Nothing wrong with accepting help. Seems you have a bit of a problem that you call it 'begging', don't see why someone in your sort of situation shouldn't. Would you rather let your child die than 'beg'?

Why do you put Covid in quotes BTW?

First, you set up a go fund me page IMMEDIATELY...how about you at least pretend to give cops a chance to find your stolen goods?

Second, too much of a cheapskate to get insurance?

And last, the average tattoo artist charges £100 an hour and ONLY EVER TAKES CASH (sometimes they ask for deposit via paypal). Do they declare ALL of their income? I don't freaking think so.

Tax evading scumbags if you ask me.
Probably thinking "oh **** I'm ruined" and rather in a panic.

Nope. Too tight to donate to get a chance to leave a comment.

I don't think that's VS. VS would have no tangible positive outcome, this presumably has.
Did you go post your thoughts on the GFM page?

    GoFundMe speed record....

Car accident near me over the weekend, sadly a little girl died.

Got to admire the speed of the 'virtue signallers' that want to...."give Gracie-Ann a heavenly departure".

Time of accident to Time of 'fund me' - about 24 hours.

Working...
