I'd be very worried... though I don't think they said where to. Possibly it won't matter, although air travel seems to be only an issue of transmission intraplane, not between countries. Red lists appear a bit pointless.

My thoughts are that we saw first time round just how quickly things change, and if anything it seems to be even fast now. We went from "we aren't going to lock down" to "lockdown 1.0" in what, a week? And we've already gone from "no changes needed" to "Plan B" to "probably need further restrictions" in a handful of days this time.

I'd agree with this - no changes before Christmas, but some into the new year if things are looking bad. This government has shown it is more concerned about how it looks than it does the results of its actions - and who can blame them - the voters (as much as they can be grouped as a single entity) have shown they only really care about the former unless it detrimentally impacts them.Originally posted by Whorty View PostNo big lockdown prior to Xmas, and highly unlikely before new year's eve ... but 2nd Jan? Christmas Lockdown Sweepstake [official]
It seems to me almost certain we'll soon have some non-trivial restrictions, maybe a return to lockdown... anyone want to get in on a sweepstake? Bragging rights at your predictive ability are up for grabs.
CBA to formalise it too much but so go where will you will, but please make concrete predictions clear among general chit-chat and arguing.
Some to be going on with, if there are good suggestions I'll edit them up here... By default everything is England-specific. Using Jan 31st as cut-off.- Further restrictions will be announced on <date> | will not be announced
- Further restrictions will come in to effect <before Christmas | for NYE | January | N/A >
- We <will | won't> get another lockdown
- If we get a lockdown it will begin on <date>
- Schools <will | won't> reopen as normal in 2022
