Watched a documentary "Who really killed Rasputin" last night and it was the British secret service apparently. Quite reasonable the Russians should strike back some time.

Okay understand now (reading the story helps who'd have thunk it), the other two found the bottle from the original attack - damn unfortunate.

Why were the victims targeted in the first place?
Was another target intended?

Have they hidden a big stash of Novichok in Salisbury cathedral spire? Or under one of the large stones at Stonehenge perhaps?

Why were traces of Novichok found in their London hotel room?
Luckily the Skirpals didnt live somewhere like scunthorpe (no offence Scunthorpe). That may have been an interesting justification.

Unless of course we're missing the obvious connection between Salisbury and the Porton Down chemical analysis/warfare/weaponisation facility that is a few miles outside the city - in our conspiracy theory.
Than again, being kind, the cathedral has a copy of Magna Carta and the worlds' oldest mechanical clock.
(I went to school there - hence the inside knowledge).
