A council has used powers intended for anti-terrorism surveillance to spy on a family who were wrongly accused of lying on a school application form.

For two weeks the middle-class family was followed by council officials who wanted to establish whether they had given a false address within the catchment area of an oversubscribed school to secure a place for their three-year-old.

I always thought that being a left-wing contractor was the height of hypocrisy, surely choosing this working lifestyle is embracing capitalism at a personal level?

I don't share some people's faith in politicians as I don't see anyone who really believes in anything and those that nearly do are terrifyingly incompetent. I'm with Plato; spread the power around as much as possible.

A continuation of Tony Blair's regime then.

But Corbyn's masters' left-wing politics are completely alien to the UK and would be a disaster if implemented. You only have to look at Venezuela, East Germany, Mao-era China, Zimbabwe and a dozen others to see that demonstrated.

An dpeople vote for a "leader" rather than a party when they have no other reason to vote.

And talking about propaganda , how about all that Labour (and Lib Dumb) bollocks about austerity and cuts to the NHS - when the austerity is in response to Labour's mismanagement of the economy and NHS spending has gone up.

    So want to try again?
Surely not talking about Kenneth Clarke then, the former Tory chancellor, two-time leadership contender and committed Europhile is the longest-serving MP in the House of Commons.

If memory serves he did quite well in the last election. It appears the great unwashed have had enough and if brexit is anything to go by they won't be told how to vote either.

If you don't want to see him in no.10 then the tories need to up their game and stop using the old media smear tactics.

I would study those countries carefully so that you can work out a strategy of survival.
