    They have fireplaces in the Home Office? How quaint, although it's nice to hear they're keeping old traditions alive.

    If you're struggling to keep the fire going, I'd just break up some of the furniture and use that for firewood, and there must be stacks of unread immigrant files you could burn

    Had a bit of respite in Kent with no more snow overnight and roads driveable but god the temp is way below 0 brrrrr.

    More snow forecast from today evening till tomorrow. So not going out for next 3 days, battening down the hatches and fighting the beast.

    Only another inch since bedtime but it's -3 and the wind has really picked up; luckily we're naturally sheltered but brrrr.

    Our local shops are empty so we're living out of the pantry supplies. Might have to eat our chickens.

    South Brumshire is Sunshine/blue sky followed by a mild snow storm. Rinse, repeat.


    We have a fine dusting of that wispy, fine snow that you see in Ch5 melodrama Christmas films which I always thought never existed.

    Not seen "dry" powder snow in this country for a while.
