One might be able to suggest a deal, but whether you would get approved for the deal has a lot to do with how knowledgeable the advisor is with contractors and getting them mortgages.

Fee free Mortgage Advice
Fee Free is possible in Branch or by the mammoth organisations that process thousands of mortgage applications a week/month - You are a number. Also available to simple & uncomplicated cases such as, PAYE, no credit issues, no dependants or relationship issues etc etc.
If for example u need to use unguaranteed income to meet Affordability; You have Adverse Credit history, your wife/partner has Adverse Credit history, you have children, your wife/partner is not working or on maternity leave, you only want to apply in Sole name, the property is of non standard construction, you have less than 6 months remaining on current Contract or a host of other criteria, then The Broker will not earn sufficient money from the Mortgage Only.
L&C are very good at what they do, but I have salvaged to Mortgages for people Declined when using L&C - Saved one client £3K in the 2 year fixed rate period. - All IT Contractors are not the same, all Mortgage Brokers are not the same.
An initial Free conversation will determine what you require, which Lender can do it & how much work THAT Lender requires (some Lenders are a simple process, some others require War & Peace).
