    It's not as bad now as it was in the summer. £1 = 165Yen in March. For some unknown reason it dropped to 120Y in July/August but has got back to 140Y now.

    Electronics are expensive. Most other things are similar prices to the UK, apart from train travel which is relatively cheap.

    If visiting Japan I'd prefer the North Island, Hokkaido, as there is more nice scenery and not just a mass of concrete like the vast metropolis that stretches for hundreds of miles in every direction round Tokyo (what Southern England will be like in thirty years at the present rate of uncontrolled immigration!). Wouldn't want to go to Hokkaido in winter though, as it's pretty nippy!
