Even if you're allowed the wrong way up a one way street or are allowed to charge through red traffic lights to save a few minutes, you still have to wait several hours to "fill up". Until they solve that one only richer people will be buying electric cars to get around town.
They should allow cyclists to overtake on both sides, jump the lights, filter to the front at lights, mount the kerb when it suits them, have ridiculously bright lights on their helmets to dazzle drivers when they look at them, and generally act like entitled prats. oh, hang on, I'm too late.
What about electric bikes? are they better than electric cars?
Of course the government could legislate against commercial development in areas without adequate infrastructure and spread the work around a little. The BBC seem to feature a lot of Manchester stories since they moved up there. If they moved parliament up north for a few years while they repair the current building we might see a change, see how they like mobility of labour
You are clearly not aware that London isn't the only UK city with air pollution problems. Leeds, Glasgow and Nottingham amongst other UK cities also have serious issues. If you want people to be able to breath and not die early then getting more people on bikes around the UK is a good idea whether or not businesses move from London to elsewhere. Also the more people on bikes the faster those who need to use cars plus those in vans, HGVs and buses can travel. So it is a win for more people.

You can get 8 bikes in the same space as one car. We have 2 choices get more people on bikes or sit in bigger jams.
Then they would get the Prius which is a hybrid and other hybrids using them.
Personally as they are cars they should not be given any exemptions on the road apart from things like congestion charges and tolls.
They need to built better cycling infrastructure. You get more people cycling you will decrease air pollution, get people fitter (which is great for the NHS as it should help to decrease the number of people with diabetes) and create some more jobs.
create more jobs ?

Creating new lanes and further fragmenting the roads seems ludicrous to me. I'd suggest they simply say electric cars can use bus lanes.

We do say that but with adults it is generally used as a poor comeback when someone has already insulted you a few times and you have come back at them with insults a few times.
