Both, but mainly for those with further to travel; the landslide on the Watford/MK stretch of track was causing cancellations on West Coast mainline.

Temperatures here dropped from 30°C to ~20°C, and I was wondering why there were no storms accompanying the sudden change. Now I know where they are.Originally posted by DaveB View Post

I arrived into London at 6am today on the sleeper train into Paddington. Casually went for some breakfast at the GWR 1st-class lounge knowing my KGX connection wasn't until 7:30 and early morning it only takes 15 min to get across.
Thought I'd check the TFL website to see how frequently the trains were, only to find there was a strike!
Made my connection by about 10 minutes but only because the 20-minute reduced service just happened to arrive as I got on the platform.
It was raining quite a lot too - is this thread about the strike or the weather?

Post-heatwave storm brings flash floods causing widespread disruption - BBC NewsOriginally posted by LondonManc View PostTrains fecked between Euston and MK - good luck getting home people.
Flash flooding has caused travel chaos in parts of England as thunderstorms dumped almost half a month's rain in some parts overnight.
A train from Milton Keynes to Euston derailed near Watford Junction, injuring two people.
The worst-hit areas are across the east, south and south-east of England which all have amber warnings in place, according to the Met Office.
Roads, homes and a hospital are flooded with lightning damaging buildings.
