BI is booming, but the technical skills are getting offshored. You still need some on site to gather the reqs and tell the Bobs what to do though.

BI is only on site because people believe they need to see the people who create the reports. That is now disappearing offshore as Bob companies offer very cheap prices.
Personally I think that to stay contracting will require you to be offer something more. I'm gambling on a combination of Saas and expert interpretation of the data collected but I'm sure you'll think of something.
