My first ever contract was at Barclaycard, rate was £500 16 years ago, they fired everyone due to the financial crisis and had to take on shed loads of contractors to fill the gaps, those contractors had to find more people who could be fired (increase efficiencies was the official term) in several workstreams. So we identified some people and Barclaycard were happy, until they found out that virtually every workstream found exactly the same people

I only visited Knutsford once or twice, I was based in Canary Wharf on the stints I did there. I remember being given 2 hours to decide whether to accept a rate cut or walk. I chose the latter. Worked at Barclays three times, wouldn't go back again.

It wouldn't surprise me if the permanent staff are on more..

Add non-recriprocal notice and this is taking the ****.

only hilarious thing to come out of that site is the tennis court incident from about 25 years ago!

Was there twice back in the day and both gigs ended prematurely.

Only decent bit was the 10min commute home.

And a high likelihood of a rate cut somewhere down the line. They did me twice in one of my stints there, so I left shortly after the second one.
