I've just been emailed a Job spec, its for a Public Sector role, it states:



I've never seen this before, is it simply just a case of ensuring one works the 8 hours per day excluding lunch break therefore 500 divided by 8 = 62.50?

I have similar. Its a PWD but with pro-rata hours for less than 7.5.

i.e. If I work 7.5 or more I get day rate. If I work less than its pro-rata hourly.

Bit crap but if I need to leave early or something I do it with client local agreement. i.e. 7.5 goes down every day even if its 7 one day and 8 the next - otherwise the clever agency would probably cut me 0.5 hours.

And where are you getting this solid advice from? Some you know and trust or a bunch of keyboard warriors?

My last contract was in The PS and it was great. Equal to market rates came and went as I pleased, able to work from home yadda yadda. You gotta know enough about IR35 to keep your nose clean and weigh up the risks and at worst I get caught for one gig.

Work environment can be different to private sector such as budgets and attitude to risk but if you have anything about you you should be able to adjust.

But go ahead, enjoy the bench. The guys on here will be pleased as punch to know you listened to their advice.

THere is more austerity/scrutiny coming up. To procure anything over 25k you need additional paperwork so I'm pretty sure they are just making sure you/agency don't exceed 25k in a single contract.
