Did not know you where a Surveyor. I'm not entirely sure what a Surveyor does but, out of interest, if a friend of mine knocked a wall down and put in an RSJ without telling the council. What could happen to my friend if the council found out?Originally posted by Halo Jones View PostAww you remembered

What sort of council?Originally posted by woohoo View PostDid not know you where a Surveyor. Green council - he will have to tear down the house, grow grass on the site and make a wattle and daub house from the resultant straw and his tulip.
Tory council - slip them a few quid in donations and it'll all be forgotten about
Labour council - his house will be subject to the new RSJ tax. It's only fair that those with RSJ's should pay to support those without RSJ's
Lib Dem Council - Select one of the 3 policies listed above at random.Comment

I am a Quantity Surveyor not a Building Surveyor, but assuming you are talking about an internal wall the council won't care, Building Control might if they found out but this is unlikely, your mate is safe unless structural damage occurs due to the works, in which case if it's not all properly calculated, designed & installed you have just violated your buildings insurance.Originally posted by woohoo View PostDid not know you where a Surveyor. So you survey quantities? Does that mean you count bricks or measure how long things are?I'm not even an atheist so much as I am an antitheist; I not only maintain that all religions are versions of the same untruth, but I hold that the influence of churches, and the effect of religious belief, is positively harmful.
