The difference between and SEBT and and EBT is that one has an S at the front and the other one doesn't

Go with a benefit trust expect a COP8 enquiry from HMRC's special investigations team. That is not something that may happen, it definitely will. Are you prepared to face up to HMRC's specialist investigators?

Perhaps you should read this article - Press watch:. If Tenon don't want to play any more, why would anyone? And, just as an aside, how do you intend getting work through an agency as a genuinely Self Employed person?
Someone did the sums recently. Super whizzy EBT vs totally legit and dead boring LtdCo. All things considered the net take home was damn nigh the same, except one option means you sleep at night.

And just putting an 'S' in front of EBT doesn't make it any more legit.

All they're saying is that their solution is legit and above board. At the same time I've got another company warning about EBT's (which is fine). Both want the business, so niether are giving an objective overview...

Self Employed Benefit Trust (SEBT)
Hi there
Thanks to all who contribute to a great forum. Am a new contractor and I've been warned off going with anyone who uses EBT.
Last week I was called by Helix who offer an attractive package but claim it's using SEBT. They also claim that its nothing like EBT, but I can't seem to get much info on SEBT. I've tried Googling self employed benefit trust with little luck, so just looking for some advice from the pro's here. I'll keep it short & simple:
- How do EBT's & SEBT's differ?
- How soon with HMRC clamp down on SEBT's
Thanks in advance
