How weird.
Two days after I reply to a thread about jury service I recieve a letter asking me to turn upto Belmarsh next month.
Glad I'm covered, shame it's only for 10 days and for less than my day rate - better than nowt though.

I think the OP mistook that the only way (s)he could get Jury Service protection was via the PCG.Originally posted by Qdos Consulting View Post

From what i remember, I had to give them a copy of the contract to prove I was earning. Ask the admin guys at the court, we are not the first, nor the last!
HMRC wouldnt give you anything of the sort, that odd direction from the courts, but doesnt surprise me...

Tell the clerk of court that you've contacted HMRC and they say they can't help, so what other alternatives would the clerk accept? If he insists on a letter from HMRC, show proof of your communication with them.

Will they accept a Payslip, P60 or a letter from your Accountant (who I am assuming is ACCA / CIMA accredited)?Originally posted by MartinBay View PostHi, I've just completed jury service and as I am employed as a Director of my own company (NOT self-employed), the court told me that I need to get a letter from HMRC confirming that I'm a salaried director. Suprise suprise, HMRC can't help. Has anybody here been in this situation?
Oh, and what they both said.
