    Tell the clerk of court that you've contacted HMRC and they say they can't help, so what other alternatives would the clerk accept? If he insists on a letter from HMRC, show proof of your communication with them.

      From what i remember, I had to give them a copy of the contract to prove I was earning. Ask the admin guys at the court, we are not the first, nor the last!

      HMRC wouldnt give you anything of the sort, that odd direction from the courts, but doesnt surprise me...

              How weird.

              Two days after I reply to a thread about jury service I recieve a letter asking me to turn upto Belmarsh next month.

              Glad I'm covered, shame it's only for 10 days and for less than my day rate - better than nowt though.
