Slightly confused here. Can I check the facts:
1. Your company hasn't traded in 2 years
2. You have VAT returns to do (which must be pretty small/simple, due to point 1)
3. You don't want to spend money on a solution (probably due to points 1 & 2)
4. You want to spend time developing a piece of code.
5. You already have a solution in place that doesn't cost you money or time. But you would prefer not to use it - even though it works, it does the job and your company isn't trading.
Is there something I'm missing?

Having looked at the HMRC Developer Guide, it seems pretty much a simple thing to build (assuming you are from a developer background) and send figures from a CSV or a front end so just wondering if I am missing something. Does it have to be approved by HMRC? Any one build one?

They cost less than half of what IPSE does, provides the same level of legal cover, and has some MTD tools available for members.
I might just ask them why they are not providing one as well for their members.Originally posted by Snooky View PostI use a freebie one - https://app.portico.openanswers.co.uk/docs/mtd_vat - which allows you to just enter the numbers for the 9 boxes directly and will then submit it for you. Seems to work fine.
