Tonight’s major motion picture premiere was Supergirl (2026) which was OK, if a bit patchy. Jason Momoa’s character had some great lines, but it felt like they could have made more of him; after an excellent introduction, he became something of a deus ex machina to be dropped in when convenient. A...

Tea has been spag bol

To go with it, more of A House Through Time

Lunch was for wimps today, as I decided to take a chance on dashing across town to get a haircut. The hairdresser’s husband isn’t dead yet so she was there, and there was just one chap being done and nobody else waiting - well, his toddler daughter was also there and was hoisted onto his knee to...

Morning denizens

Clear blue sky today, but it’s a bit chilly as a result: currently 7°C and reaching the high of 15° this afternoon once it’s clouded over. The barometers are back up to 1008/1016mB

I managed to wake up properly, or at least enough to get...

More of Adulthood Rites read

Thursday tomorrow! No lunchtime shopping as it’s Viz week so I’ll be going to Big Sainsbury’s on Friday

Goodnight all

Tea has been southern not-fried chicken out of the freezer, with chips and ketchup

This was accompanied by yet more crime in NY City, this time the Central Park jogger case, the perpetrator of which confessed when he was already serving a long sentence for rape and murder, at which...

Lunch was a bratwurst in a couple of finger rolls, with curry ketchup and crispy onion bits

The rain seems to be gradually petering out, though I don’t think it’s stopped completely yet. It’s still very gloomy but in theory, there may be some sunshine late in the afternoon...

Morning denizens

I failed to bid you all goodnight last night

This was because I’d read more of Adulthood Rites, which seems very good now I’ve got used to not reading about wartime London. But after that, I got distracted reading about some API for a possible...

Tea has been beef and Hobgoblin casserole with some of the slightly spicy potato wedges I made last week, and peas

This was accompanied by another ’orrible murder in New York City, this time of a fashion designer killed by her spoilt and sociopathic rich kid boyfriend :blueli...

On the stroke of 17:00, my phone and watch together sounded the clarion call of an urgent reminder. What important task did I have to do? “Bake bread.” So the bread maker is now at work

I also remembered to put the mundane laundry on a little while ago

Lunch has been some leftover Indian starter bits from Saturday

It’s cleared up outside and turned quite sunny and Simpsonesque now

Foggy start out! Very scenic

It’s relatively mild still, the colder weather having not yet arrived. Currently 14°C and the expected high for the day is 20°, but the barometers are continuing downwards to 1007/1015mB

There's a 15% chance of rain around 23:00 but...

This evening’s viewing was fare dodgers. The chap who always topped up his Oyster card in a shop next to a Tube station in West London but only ever tapped in 45 minutes later at a station in East London hadn’t really thought things through

Later, I continued reading Adulthood...

Burger and fries for tea

This was one the TTD burgers that are a bit smaller but have a really nice flavour. I’m out of sesame seed buns so I need to make some; the question is, do I make them smaller to fit one of these burgers, or larger so I can get two in them

Another Monday done. Only two more before my break!

This afternoon, I finally got around to turning my developer laptop on again to check there wasn’t anything on there that I needed. There wasn’t, so I shut it down, disconnected the cables (HDMI - mine, a USB lead - mine,...

Lunch has been chicken and barley soup with a crust of wholemeal
