I felt the interview went well but two working days have passed with no update so not looking good....

Final interview tomorrow for a role I have previously performed.
Initial appointment was for a 30 min teams call with the MD.
This was then cancelled and replaced with a two hour on site tech technical interview.

I have mentioned this before but I worked at a large European bank and their strategy in Canary Wharf at least was clearly based on cheap Indian developers. The dev floor I worked on was at least 70% Indian and half used to disappear at 4:30 in the summer to play cricket....

It's easiest for them to ghost you.
In my experience if you do chase for an outcome you rarely get told that you didn't get the gig. I suspect in some cases the agent gets ghosted by the hiring firm as well....

In this market if you didn't get an offer within a day or two you almost certainly didn't get the gig.
If the agent spins you a convoluted tale like this you definitely did not get the gig....

I am in an outside gig in the public sector.
The limiting factor on tenure appears to be constantly changing supply chains....

Interview next week with a previous banking client for a role I have previously performed.
3 days a week in London and the rate is the same as when I left four years ago but I am going nowhere in my current public sector gig....
