A bit hilarious anyway. We got a cold call today. When does this frigging telephone preference service start working??????????????????????????????? Or is one call instead of 8 considered as working?

Normally 6 to 8 weeks, but some will still get through as the regulations don't apply to off-shore cold callers, many of whom seem to be calling from the US.

That was an hour ago.

A lot of them seem to be pre-recorded messages these days so it's hard to say where the calls coming from.
