It's been doing it since about February, and doesn't seem to have been getting any worse, so hopefully it's not quite that drastic

I've got VB6 installed on a virtual machine so it doesn't taint the primary OS on my laptop.Originally posted by voodooflux View PostJust need to dig out a snippet of VB6 for someone then I can get back to the safety of C#.Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?Comment

Yup, the cheapness of the parts is a definite advantage - that and the fact that any competent mechanic can work on it, as it predates all those fancy electronic systems that you need a special computer from the manufacturer to work withOriginally posted by voodooflux View PostMy car turns 20 this year as well, but fortunately parts are still readily available for it whilst being relatively inexpensive.
When I was up in Yorkshire one of the permies was exchanging her MX5 for a newer one. They delivered the new one to the office, then tried to get some info off the older one's system (something to do with mileage) which had to be uploaded to some central system or other as part of the trade-in process.
The bloke plugged his laptop into the car and ran the special software... and then found that he couldn't get a mobile signal to upload the data
He was stuck there for about an hour, as he wasn't allowed to move the car until the data had been uploaded, and his signal never lasted more than a few seconds before dropping out again
