I spent the last couple of days working away at various demos that might be useful for the interview - I didn't really have any details beyond a vague description of the nature of the business, so I wanted to cover as many bases as possible
The client started out by telling me that he didn't understand any technical stuff more recent than dBase, and never asked for a demo of anything
Furthermore, there was no Internet access available, unless we wanted to muck around with my 3 modem
Anyway, I showed him an app I already had up in the browser: the server grabs feeds of satellite tracking data for wild elephants in Africa and turns them into tabular data in HTML, and then a bit of JavaScript sucks the data out of the table and displays it on a Google Map. He seemed to find that quite entertainingComment
