I discovered that both batteries (there's two versapaks which each have 3 nicd cells) were only giving 2.8V instead of 3.6V, thus the lack of power in the saw.
I unstuck them with the big capacitor charged to 10V trick that sends very high peak currents through the cells to remove dendrites.
They won't last long though.Comment
