When I started using dos in 1987 (on an Amstrad) it was beyond the pale... it's still available on Win2k though... as I've just proved... don't think it was on Win98 though... too professional...
I remember being particularly impressed with the Amstrad 1512 when I discovered that loading DOS, GEM, and Locomotive(?) Basic left you with exactly 32k of user space...
I half inched a copy of IBM Compiled Basic from another dept pretty quickly...
I still use the copy of MASM 1.0 that came with it...
