Even when I started on windows (1990) edlin was considered passe.......
When I started using dos in 1987 (on an Amstrad) it was beyond the pale... it's still available on Win2k though... as I've just proved... don't think it was on Win98 though... too professional...
Are you getting old? Or has eaten too many students affected your memory?
I used the GA system for 8 or 9 years, so that's engraved on my soul; the Intel MDS was used when I had to... for loading programmes onto floppy for test equipment... very tedious stuff.
