I went up to the place that I use for brakes and tyres and suchlike car bits. They're a local firm, renowned for their speedy service - you phone them up and they just say "Yeah, bring it in now, no problem". I don't even bother phoning any more, and the longest I've ever had to wait was about twenty minutes on a busy Saturday afternoon.
So I go down there on a Wednesday, thinking it'll be reasonably quiet, and it's chock-a-block and the bloke just says "No chance we can even look at it today"
Still, it was a sunny day with lots of those ornamental fluffy white clouds, so I went for a nice drive over the ancient lanes and field roads over towards Rutland - I saw a total of four other cars, one of which kindly pulled into a field entrance to let me past
Bummer, man... still, I'm sure that Rutland was wonderful, whereever it is...
I couldn't resist... I was going to crash out, but instead I had smoked bacon, beans and fried bread for supper, then started watching Babylon 5 as I ate
