I also discovered that the gearbox oil TAF-X is a mere £15 a litre...
Since the <spit> Passat is currently spitting this stuff all over the engine compartment & the garage floor, I may not bother buying some more but just pour some EP80 in instead.
I suppose that means alien spaceships need gearbox oil.
I believe he's in deep cover, and has therefore been using a Passat to avoid alarming the local constabulary, whenever possible.
What the passengers on the morning commute from Neath think when a Giant Alien Lizard boards the train, settles into a seat with a SHRIIEEEEAAAAK! of comfort, and then proceeds to draw up Cunning Plans, can only be imagined.
Lord only knows what it's like on the return journey, when a tired and pissed-off Giant Alien Lizard boards the train...
It is starting to look like AVGTRAY is the culprit.
I don't use things running Windows as a rule (well, as a preference), but I do increasingly get the impression that all the anti-virus stuff (and AVGTRAY is a bit of AV stuff that is only there because they think their software is so important that it must be on the system tray) cripples one's machine to such an extent that one might as well have a virus.
Now that I've got my Windows laptop working again, I think I'll remove all the AV stuff and rely on running it through a shared WiFi connection from the MacBook, with the further layer of firewalling provided by the router.
