      Oi!

We're going out again on Saturday. I think she actually starting to dig me which is a scary thought. It means she's a lot closer to breaking me.

      erm I mean

At least if she comes to the CUK meet ups she'll have someone her own age to play with

TPD is an extension - by now, it's an extension of so many consciousnesses it's even become self-aware

(In case anybody's wondering, I'm not the CUK user test please delete, although I have certain suspicions about who might be... )

NewClientCorp is 30 days from date of invoice as standard - so many of their non-IT people (DJs and so forth) are, in fact, freelancers of some ilk that their payroll system is completely geared up to include such things.

They seem to have it down quite nicely, although I'll be interested to see how it works when invoice dates veer slightly off course - I forgot to invoice yesterday, so I suspect this will delay remittance by one day.

Still, they do seem to pay in thirty days exactly - no mucking about chasing up an Accounts Payable department staffed by people who appear to use the Mayan calendar, as has been the case with other clients

I've been thinking about that... we finally have a full-time technical owner whose job is purely to ensure that we have whatever technology we need to do the job in the way that's best for the project, and he has the (correct) attitude that what's best for us is best for the project. One of the things he's said we should all have is VPN access - and given that one of the permies works from home three days a week (he made it a condition of taking the job, knowing how much they wanted him ) I might be able to cut it down to three nights a week in London

Anyway, nighty-night denizens - I think I can actually get something rather cool completed tomorrow morning, which will not only make the client happy, but also give me something to feel good about on the way up the M1.

The last few months always seem to have involved Fridays where one either knew or suspected that something was going to fail to meet the sprint deadline, or had already done so - in the proper spirit of agile development no blame is apportioned when that happens, the team as a whole simply works together to find out how to avoid similar problems in the future, but it's still frustrating.

This last sprint has gone much better - it looks like our sprint planning is becoming more realistic, and our techniques for dealing with unexpected contingencies and incorporating them into the workflow are really paying off, so we're aiming for truly achievable goals and achieving them, which makes us all happier

                    Night all
