I can do that myself, it only requires one hand (after somebody opens the varnish tin for me of course)

I may have a look around for an automatic car today, just so that I can drive for the next six weeks.

My other vehicles are all manual shift. or I could screw a hairspray can top to the palm of my plaster cast that will slot over the gear lever and allow me to change gear

Mind you, there was a guy at Morriston who had both hands in casts, now that would be embarrassingly inconvenient
