I've decided to not get the hard drive from Amazon after all, bringing my order down to a mere £212.06
The hard drive was from a non-Amazon supplier... I once had one of those send something by UPS, who kept trying to deliver it when I wasn't at home, and wouldn't let me just go and collect it from the depot at a time convenient for me
In the end they actually tried when I was in, but didn't bother allowing any time for me to get down from my flat to the front door - ring the bell once, shove another card through, and leave. I just managed to catch the guy after chasing him down the road in my slippers and banging on the door of the van as he was about to pull away.
Mind you, the Royal Mail disclaimed all knowledge of one Amazon delivery, claiming that there was only one parcel when the card they'd left clearly said there were two... then they sent it back to Amazon, who refunded the money... and I went to Foyle's instead
