    Hello NickFitz

You'll be back from the pub then.

      That's part 3 of 5 seen.

For some reason this film ("Trainspotting") is giving me the serious munchies.

      I'm off on a left-over-from-Xmas quest...

We're up to the AIDS bit of the film.

It is a useful reminder of what those early days were like.

Straight out of the the Cold War's "What's the point? The bomb'll get us" and straight into "The gay plague will kill all the heteros too".

It's no wonder my generation are all manic depressives.

Hmm. Perhaps "Trainspotting" is not the most cheerful of films ever made.

              Hi BI

It's an amazing film. I saw it in the cinema when it came out, and got my then gf to get me the "special edition" VHS for Christmas that year.

I've still got the tape and am on my second copy of the DVD, the first having been borrowed on the "never-to-be-returned" plan by somebody.

You should read the book as well - the Scottish dialect is heavy going for the first four pages or so, but then you get in the way of it, and it's an incredible read.

The sequel "Porno" is well worth reading, too - no sign of a film of that yet

And it doesn't help when you've lost a couple of friends to heroin along the way anyway.

                  Hello!

What are you doing still up? <-- In mother's best voice!

I hadn't thought of getting the book out ... I'll fetch Clockwork Orange while I'm at it. It's about time I read that too.

I'm wondering how the f**k these bastards have the cheek to charge me for this so-called Internet access - it appears to impose a "one-page-every-six-minutes" limit

I know how Zeity feels on the end of his 1200/75 baud Prestel modem now

I know just what you mean. Hotel InterNet access is a huge scam in the UK. All the chains are in on it too.

That's one of the reasons I won't go with the chains any more.
