Let me see what I've bought - some were impulse buys, so I can't remember it all:

HMV only managed to provide:

• A Marx Brothers box set with eight films:
  • Animal Crackers
  • Monkey Business
  • Horse Feathers
  • Duck Soup
  • A Girl in Every Port
  • The Cocoanuts
  • Room Service
  • Love Happy
• The Grapes of Wrath (Zanuck's production, obviously)
• Ice Cold in Alex (just the thing for a rainy Sunday afternoon)

leaving Borders to take up the slack with:

• Bodies (the BBC drama about doctors killing their patients through incompetence)
• Peep Show series 1 - 4 box set
• To Kill a Mockingbird (starring Gregory Peck)
• The Truman Show (which I wouldn't have bought as I recorded it a while back, but it was only a couple of quid, and it saves me the trouble of burning it to DVD)

and the books:

• Roger McGough's autobiography Said and Done
• Hunter S Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas which I've been meaning to replace for years since somebody "borrowed" it
• Hunter S Thompson's Generation of Swine, ditto

and the latest Scientific American.

Oh, and some fruit shortcake biscuits which I shall now dunk in my coffee whilst gloating over my new treasures

That does not mean getting one of the girls to pop down the road from the brothel... or even up the road from the other brothel... or across the road from the brothel opposite-and-down-a-few-doors (although that one is, coincidentally, housed partly above a Chinese restaurant - the other part is above an Indian restaurant).
