Lunch has been the rest of the cold cocktail sausages

A bit late getting it though, as I was engrossed in mucking about with new forum stuff

Tea has been homemade BBQ ribs, with chips

Still mostly cloudy out, but not in a rainy way

The magpie parents seem very protective this year. The other morning, one of them chivvied some pigeons that happened to be standing near the flowerbed when the young ones wanted to play in it, though only to the extent of making them move a few feet further away. And while they were playing there again this afternoon, a squirrel had wandered in from just past our block and was minding its own business down by one of the parked cars, not even heading for the big lawn, when the Dad came up and chased it off the way it had come

Tonight’s motion picture premiere was Barbarian (2022). TBH I only watched this because it’s “free” on Netflix but won’t be in a week or so, and people have spoken highly of it. It’s one of those horror movies where bad things happen to good people, of which there seem to be so many these days. Perhaps it’s a reflection of the times we live in? Anyway, it’s a very good example of its genre; which is just a fancy way of saying that if you like that kind of thing, it’s the kind of thing you’ll like

But while I don’t mind that kind of thing from time to time, one can have too much of it and feel in need of a bit of positivity. And with that in mind, I rewatched The Martian (2015) because that’s all about staying positive in the face of adversity, without needing to bring in gimmicks like somebody trying to eat the hero’s face

Finally, the next episode of Silo, Machines (TV Episode 2023) which was very good because much of it was about mechanical engineering under time and steam pressure, which is always fun - though they did play fast and loose with the laws of physics, which real mechanical engineers know is a very bad idea

        Goodnight all

Ye canna change the laws of Physics, Captain. .

          Morning.

          Saturday.

          Damp.

          Blue sky in parts.

          Sunny.

          Breezy.

18.6 in here, 19 in the kitchen, 16.5 in the leanto.

994.5 mBar, 29.37 in Hg, 745.9 Torr, 14.424 psi, (down from 1002 last night), 68% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 29th of March 2020 there was much discussion of sourdough with LM, SimonMac, scruff and WTFH contributing, with NF popping in, and me remarking on the jackdaws squabbling on the roof.

In a change for the better today's dream before waking involved some ?? observer from elsewhere/elsewhen/elsesideways doing a bit of the Equalizer type stuff, though parking the machine at 30,000 feet seemed foolish in the extreme due to ongoing traffic, so 70,000 feet it was. Liked half pints of dark too. . Then I woke up. It seemed almost good enough to make a script.

It's rained: I knew the blue sky & sun was too good to be true. Now it's that very fine drizzle that's wetter than a deluge.

          Lunch: brunch.

          Book.

Freecell score: 50%, running average: 84%. Might as well not have bothered: approaching wall punching by the end of it.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the wan sunshine to start, drizzle for the final half mile.

For those innerested in skinwalkers there's this:

            Afternoon all

Damp from early morning rain. Overcast. Currently 15 degrees with a high of 26 expected. More rain forecast, although there may be a bit of sunshine later. Barometer down to 1005 mBar.

            Sunrise 04:46; Sunset 21:14 BST

HWMBO went home yesterday afternoon. He'll be back in a few weeks.

I opted for a lie in instead of getting myself to Twickers, and rescheduled the plasma donation early this morning before settling down for a bit more sleep.

              Afternoon denizens

Cloudy again here, and still somewhat breezy. It’s 16°C, which is the high for the day, but “feels like” 12°; the barometers have reversed course and are down to 991/998mB

Tea was brought from the South Indian place past the park. Very nice too

The cloud’s cleared quite a bit here, though I think there was a bit of drizzle this afternoon so it looks slightly damp out there

                  Quite windy out.

Very relaxed day had; nothing notable done.
