    Morning denizens

Yet another grey day! Quite mild again too: 12°C now, 14° expected for the whole of the afternoon, though it’ll possibly (50%) rain a bit around and after lunchtime. The barometers are steady at 993/1001mB

The lunchtime rain is to be expected as that’s the only time I have to go out, for I have an appointment to get a Covid jab at the chemist’s! As far as I know I can still get this on the NHS; I think that’s what the GP practice nurse said when I was getting my flu jab, so that’s what I’ll tell them

      Afternoon all

Overcast but quite bright. There has been some rain. Currently 15 degrees and that's the high for the day. Rain set to continue off and on for the remainder of the day. Barometer down to 1004 mBar.

      Sunrise 07:06; Sunset 16:24 GMT

Sunrise is getting late enough that I am less concerned about ensuring it doesn't disturb me in the mornings.

Busy day so far. Meetings started at 9am. Much to do.

No Covid vaccine for me, because they’d run out!

So I’ll be back there on Monday at 11, which may be early enough that there’s a dose or two left

No mention was made of my eligibility or otherwise, but perhaps they only check that when they’re going to actually do something. Or maybe I look even more decrepit than I thought, and it never occurred to them that such a ruin of a man wouldn’t be eligible

Tried something new for lunch today in the shape of Heck® smoky pork sausage rashers. I had a couple in a bap (white) and it was nice enough; I might have three in there next time, as they’re large baps. I had them sauceless as I wanted to check out the flavour, but I reckon they’d benefit from whatever one’s preferred sauce (of the two kinds, which is all the sauces there are in this world) might be

Tea has been lamb chops with chips and beans

This afternoon, I spent a load of time investigating the new forum software. It’s not hard for it to be better than the current stuff, but it’s really very nice. I need to do some work to make it proper CUK, though nowhere near as much as I thought might be needed

Mind you, one of the trickiest bits of the current version was getting the URLs the same as they had been - they were originally done with a plugin on vB4, but it was never updated for vB5, and I realised why when I did everything necessary to get them working! It turns out this new thing will also need a bit of work to keep the URLs the same, or it might be easier to end up with slightly different ones, such as “/forum/general” instead of “/general”, and redirect the old ones (which will also take a bit of work). I’ll see what I can do once I understand how it all works

              Morning.

              Saturday.

              Damply dry.

              Sunny.

              Blue sky.

Chilly in here at 17.2 deg, 16 in the kitchen, 14 in the leanto, 10 in the saltinghouse.

1007 mBar, 29.74 in Hg, 755.3 Torr, 14.6 psi, (up from 1000 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 28th of February 2020 much laundry was being done by me and NF, AndyGarbs, Covbob, eek, and opm popped in, and I went to town on the bus, still having a Bad Leg, like.

              Washing frenzy ongoing.

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: FOOC. Moneybox <click>

Not a great deal of drying going on out there.

Fecking raining: all in the TD. Feck feck feckitty feck feck feck.

Freecell score waiting for the TD: 79%, running average: 84%.

It’s sunny out for a change, with a fair number of clumps of cumuli hither and yon. Fairly mild again at 13°C, though 14° will be as good as it gets; the barometers are up at 1000/1008mB

I have been to the farmers' market this morning, on instructions from HWMBO so he has something to cook when he arrives on Monday.

I'm off soon to give blood but need to change my jumper first as it'll be a faff for needle access. While I'm at the hell hole that is Westfield Shopping Centre, I'll also pop into Next to pick up an order. My beloved Vans shoes that look a bit like old school plimsolls (but are all black) are on their last legs after three years of much wear. Next is the most convenient place to get them from.

Just realised I've not really eaten or drunk enough water this morning so best sort that before I go.

The clouds have mostly gone and it's a lovely sunny day out there now.

I see I neglected to record last night’s major motion picture presentations, so for the record: the premiere was The Prosecutor (2024) in which a Hong Kong police officer changes career to become a prosecutor with the Ministry of Justice. But when he realises that a young man convicted of drug offences was set up as a patsy for a criminal organisation, he makes it his mission to take them and their corrupt lawyers down. Lots of violence is, of course, involved. It’s enjoyable stuff, though any lawyers watching would be thoroughly enraged by its depiction of court procedures

And then a rewatch of Con Air (1997) which is one of those films that just keeps on going harder, with scenes that would have been regarded as a fitting climax to a lesser movie repeatedly treated as a mere step along the way to something even more climactic
