I wonder what the optimal time for going to Sainsbury's is (apart from half ten at night, when it's almost deserted)? I might try around 14:30, as that should mean the lunch trade has mostly been and gone, but people haven't started getting off work yet.

Good idea, but avoid pension day as that's when the old folks will be bimbling for the whole day.
