Should also so we have given up on the house we wanted.

The £30k of insulation worked required on top of everything else was a mite much especially as it can't be done on a room by room basis and required half the house being done at a time.

It meant finding £50k to do the immediately required work rather than the £30k I was hoping for and added too much risk to the project.

I think the seller is going to be there a long time....

On the plus side of all this malarkey, we've now more formally decided to look for somewhere else to live. We've just been occasionally saying "oh, that looks nice" rather than actually making an effort.

Having been through the mortgage application process, I also know how much I could get as a decision in principle, so we're more likely to increase the mortgage and buy somewhere bigger and nicer. I think we're going to end of slowly moving east - West Yorks next, then back to North Yorks if we can ever afford somewhere nearer to home.

That was the downside for us. Apart from the house we wanted everything else is either not much bigger or not as easy to escape from. The fact is our current house is 2 miles from a motorway junction with no snarl points between me and the junction whilst everything else has snarl up points in the way.

Moving out of town there is a brand new estate but it has rabbit hutch homes. I think the only real solution would be to buy a plot and build what we want ourselves but I can't be arsed to do that at the moment.

Well it all seemed too good to be true, but things are not looking good.

It's looking very much like there are cash flow problems with permieco, also as a result of promising the world to clients they are now failing to hit deadlines, due to over-committal on other projects and being seriously under resourced. They may have also grown a little too quickly and haven't really thought things through when it comes to projects.
Little things such as the lunch which is provided every day, I've noticed that there is less and less food being ordered and also expenses are taking longer to get paid.

Methinks tis time to leave before the ship sinks and takes me with it ( just need to find a new gig first).

All firms have growing pains. They are as likely to kill a company as a sudden lack of customers.
