My dad was of the opinion I was a bone idle, thick, stupid, senseless toe-rag who ought to get out of bed once in a while.

I am one of those who was 'rescued' by the Scout Association, learned some skills, learned some stuff about myself (strengths and weaknesses), developed self-respect and realised I was not worthless.
