I went on a law course some years back, and one of the seminars was about women's rights.

In particular, what should the sentence be in a number of different circumstances, ranging from "man hits wife repeatedly, wife snaps and stabs him to death" through to "man hits wife occassionally, one night while he's asleep, she stabs him to death".

What I learnt was that if you were a man, you were likely to be stabbed to death by your wife, and you deserved it.

of course the family courts have endorsed the view that women look after babies. the flip side is that it means that men work. they are stuck in a time warp

Good point... I guess I have always felt the maternal instict should be stronger.... men do tend to let you down (my experience anyhow - not saying all fellas are like that) - I dunno maybe it's cos I am a woman....

its my view that men are just as sentimental down inside. but they are under enormous pressure to play to stereotype. Sorry you have been let down - one day your prince will come...
