Day of the Chickens today: lunch was a cold chicken leg, and tea has been chicken in red wine sauce with chips and peas

To go along with this, a very tangled tale of murder in LA in the Netflix homicide series

I finished Pixie tonight, in which she completed the Tarot designs (for which she was paid very little by Waite, considering it took her six months) and various other aspects of her life worked out well

      Goodnight all

        Morning.

        Tuesday?

        Dark.

        Dank.

        Dreary.

        Wet.

        Sunless.

20.4 deg in here, 21.2 in the kitchen, 19 in the leanto, 15 out the back.

1002.5 mBar, 29.6 in Hg, 751.9 Torr, 14.54 psi, (down from 1007 last night), 69% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 3rd of April 2020, between 22:12 and 23:35, Brillo, Churchill, LM, MrMarkyMark, NF, WTFH, and I popped in, whilst on the 4th of April 2020, between 03:42 and 04:17, NF popped in.

Entertainment: Jack Hargreaves Old Country (1985): John Holmes (not that one) washing sheep to make them clean & tidy for appearing on tv or competing in a local show. Whittling sticks: impressive stick with all sorts of things shown on it from rats and butterflies to bottles of Guinness and farmers with fat bellies. Taking a ride in a horse & one of his Battlesden carts through the woods to look at blue bells, then on the lane to look at white parsley, then it's yellow oilseed rape, followed by the red of poppies, then the most striking blue of flax (which I've only ever seen once, somewhere between Monmouth & Ross on Wye). Apparently oilseed rape was A New Thing at the time.

Walk (abbreviated, 3 miles) walked in the grey gloom with the sun barely visible.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: Dashcam bollox S3 E7. There are some spectacularly incompetent drivers out there.

Some minor potching in the garage. Well it was sommat to do.

More massacre of the brambles: fecking things. There are now two enormous heaps of brambles for the next bonfire. I've pencilled in November 5th. .

The grass is growing again. It'll see the mower on the next dry day, whenever that is.

Entertainment: Alaska homesteading thing: some numpties in a cabin in the woods in Michigan. Stone me, rather them than me: no power, mandraulic water pump, lights run on D cells, and the chap has an insulin pump he charges in the lighter socket of his truck. Said mandraulic pump had previously seen off a parent due to a heart attack. Changed the waterpump to an electric one. Installed a pipe from the pump to the house & put 150 gallons of storage in the roof. Insulated the pumphouse to stop it all freezing up in the -40 deg winters. Installed solar electricity with battery backup. Installed turkey houses. If it all worked as designed it ought to be ok.

Last bit of Jack Hargreaves Battlesden cart trip through the countryside.

Tea: soup etc. Nice enough. Entertainment: PM.

Bab5 S3 E22 "Z'ha'dum". As Kosh said to Sheridan: "If you go to Z'ha'dum you will die".

Raining again after a lovely sunny afternoon of bramble massacering.

Who do you think you are?

          Morning denizens

It’s a grey and drizzly start to the day, though that isn’t deterring the birds - our resident magpie couple were down on the lawn earlier, and now there are three crows, possibly parents with a juvenile (or probably adolescent in crow years). The rain is expected to taper off towards lunchtime and it should brighten up around teatime. Currently 14°C, it’s only expected to reach 18°, and the barometers are down to 996/1004mB

              Morning all

Wet. Dull. More wet. Currently 16 degrees ('feels like' 14) with a high of 17 expected. Rain may clear for a sunny afternoon. Barometer down to 1008 mBar.

Opticians visit took 2 hours yesterday! Mum needs both reading and distance glasses due to encroaching cataracts. She says her eyesight is fine but she struggled to read the extra large lines on the chart. Much deterioration in 2 years. My brother will have the joys of her learning to cope with the new prescription next week.

Technical issues abound in the move to a virtual development environment, but I’m learning a lot about SSH

The sun came out and it's a lovely afternoon now.

Popped out to the shops to send Sky back their broadband hub and book Mum in for a cut and blow-dry.

Late lunch of cheese and ham salad sandwiches with some very fresh bread picked up from Waitrose.

Tea has been a burger and chips

It was a TTD burger, but smaller than the ones I usually get. Very tasty though

To go with it, the start of a new 24 Hours in Police Custody, about a young guy who had his head smashed in with a baseball bat in Luton
