    Morning all
Overcast out, but no rain. We had a little yesterday morning but barely enough to keep the dust down.
Fired up the work emails/teams to see what I've missed over the last few days, turns out very little apart from a cyber security course for one client (that everyone has to do annually to be allowed to access their network), and a second client who sent a meeting invite and got an out of office message from me, so he followed it up with a teams message, someone else replied to say I was away, so he then sent a message during the meeting asking why I hadn't joined. The last meeting I had with him resulted in me asking him for the same information I had requested 3 times before. I suspect this meeting will have consisted of him asking me if I've done my bit yet, me replying that he hadn't supplied me with the information, and then it all being forgotten about.

      Morning all

Dull and grey. Currently 16 degrees and that's the high for the day. Rain expected all day. 'Weather insights' says warming expected over the next four days. Barometer down to 1013 mBar.

      Sunrise 04:54; Sunset 21:04 BST

Was too lazy to get up and ended up being two mins late for a 9 am meeting because I refused to not make a coffee. I blamed internet issues.

Need to try and find a pharmacy to fill another one of HWMBO's prescriptions that he thought wasn't urgent but it turns out he was adrift a week in his calculations. This one needs to be ordered in and is another one with stock shortages.

        The question has been asked...

Does one person need 6 cameras, 10 lenses, 5 flashguns? (not counting the gear The Wife has, or the 4 cameras and 3 lenses I threw in the bin in Mallorca)
The answer is, of course, no.
The follow up is that 3 lenses are duplicates, two bodies have been round the clock a few times, and some accessories such as batteries cables and straps are missing.

My current thinking: sell the lenses that are in good condition (one of the 300mm f/2.8s has a dent where it fell on a boat, it still works perfectly, but no one would buy it). Sell my "old" cameras, that are still in good condition.
Give maybe one of the other old cameras to my student.

Life is full of tough decisions, I can sense a trip to a camera shop.

Lunch: tomato and lentil soup and a bit of wholemeal

I can't remember if this soup was supposed to be herby or zingy, but it's a kind of halfway house between the two anyway. I need to go through and chuck away all the too-old herbs and spices, then restock

Lunch has been early because of a meeting at 13:00, a team retro which probably isn't happening because most of the team are busy doing a migration at that time. But it hasn't been removed from the calendar and nobody's answered my queries on Slack, so I'm having to operate on the basis that it's going ahead

Meanwhile, the full test results are back at the GP and they've phoned to tell me one of the doctors will be calling me this afternoon about them. Looking through the results, it appears that it may be something to do with kidneys, or possibly lipids. I daresay it'll be fine now I've had soup

Tea has been reheated chicken bits with chips and ketchup

Accompanied by Night Coppers in which the residents of, and visitors to, Brighton continue to be a thoroughly reprehensible and dissolute bunch

The 13:00 meeting didn't happen, as predicted

And the phone call from the surgery was indeed about the anomalous kidney function test result. So I have to have that one again, plus give them a bottle of piss while I'm at it, so they can work out if it was just a blip or something worthy of further investigation

Despite the weather (raining) I did indeed take HMWBO's prescription down to a pharmacy nearby. They said they'd need some time to find out if they can get it and how long it would take, and that they'd give me a call.

It got to 5pm and I thought they weren't going to call me at all and then they did! Said item will arrive tomorrow and they'll call or text when it's in. HWMBO is a happy bunny.

This evening I have been watching Stuff The British Stole on U (formerly known as UKTV). There were two series but the second doesn't seem to be available. It's quite interesting. Presented by an Australian, looking at things like the Koh-i-Noor diamond, the Stone of Scone, and some Palestinian mosaic so far. Each episode is just under half an hour long, so not exactly a high brow in depth look at the circumstances but enough to get across the notion that the Brits are a bunch of wrong 'uns. (Or, more specifically, the English).

In Eagle Days, the ongoing assault against the UK is taking its toll on the Luftwaffe as increasing numbers of aircrew crack up and are carted off to rest homes, while Goering is finding it hard to explain to the master race how it is the RAF have been bombing Berlin, which he'd guaranteed could never happen

I'm going for an eye test at lunchtime tomorrow, having realised I'm at least six months overdue for one

                Goodnight all

                  Morning denizens

Up betimes today, as I was woken by a most pressing need for a piss at quarter to seven

It's thin cloud up there this morning, so kind of overcast but still bright. It looks like this will continue through the day, with a slight chance of rain soon but also a chance of sunnier spells for a brief period this afternoon. It's 12°C but "feels like" 8°, with an expected high of 17°, and the barometers are down a touch at 999/1007mB

                    Morning all
Before heading out with Max, I checked the nest box cam to see that there was still one chick left, so I put out some fresh mealworms.
Came back from the walk, still one chick, but the tray of worms had gone, so I went to top it up.
Back inside after topping up, check the camera, and it had fledged.
6 eggs, all hatched, all fledged!

Don't worry, it gets worse. . Oh, and ^^^ Zen Chury Om for yesterday's post.

                      Morning.

Wednesday again (though I nearly typed Tuesday once more, like last week. It's quite worrying really ).

                      Damp.

                      Grey.

                      Dreary.

Chilly side of cool in here at 17.8 deg, 18.5 in the kitchen, 17 in the leanto.

1011.5 mBar, 29.869 in Hg, 758.687 Torr, 14.67 psi, (up from 1007 last night), 70% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 19th of January 2020 LM flew back but got a suboptimal carriage on the tube, BR14 & Brillo popped in, as did eek.

Shopping trip to Tesco done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

                      Lunch: Brunch.

                      Entertainment: Weather, TWATO.

More potching in the garage: bottom of the toolbox painted with bitumen paint. Dunno if it was wise but it's done now.

Some "gardening" done (as my dear nephew terms it): staked the Forsythia so her next door doesn't get soaked when walking up the garden path, plus brambles cut back and some of the remaining japanese honeysuckle attacked.

Tea: chilli con carne etc. Nice enough.

                      Entertainment: PM.

Some bollox on Blaze about 1967 Canadian UFOs.

                      Maigret The Open Window (2001).
