Autocomplete/autocorrect are all well and good, but I swear it's going back and changing stuff that was fine to begin with. That should be "so it was good for me"

Lunch has been KFC hot wings, reheated to get them nice and crispy then dunked in ketchup

Very gloomy out now but it's not supposed to rain until tonight… ah, all change on the forecast, and now it's expected to rain in twenty minutes or so

      Afternoon all

Sunny afternoon, with a combination of lumps and wisps, after a much cloudier start this morning. Currently 15 degrees with a high of 16 expected. The ever present chance of showers remains. Barometer up to 1015 mBar.

      Sunrise 04:55; Sunset 21:02 BST

Lazy day today. I did consider going to my storage unit to find my drill but I haven't made it there yet.

        The new blind is up!

The fancy new drill made short work of taking the initial hole from the other day to the required depth, and no iron filings came out so I concluded it's concrete in there after all. The remaining two holes only took a few moments after that, and the remaining business of getting the brackets screwed on up there, mounting the rail, and assembling then hanging the vertical bits didn't take much longer

I think the drill plus set of concrete bits cost more than the blind itself. But it's bound to come in handy again, if only for the blinds that still need hanging in the living room

So what ya gonna do with your No More Nails? Tastes quite nice if used as salad dressing.

I daresay I'll find a use for it, but I'm not about to eat salad

Tea has been the last of the beef short ribs and Hobgoblin stout casserole thing, with chips and peas

Been a bit rainy on and off here, though nothing torrential. Still very windy

The rain turned up mid afternoon and I got rather wet when putting the bins out a couple of hours later. Windy too.

And in Eagle Days, the Luftwaffe are finding that taking on the RAF is rather more of a challenge than they'd previously encountered

Still very windy and the rain has been heavier, though it seems to have paused for a bit now

Back to work tomorrow. Oh well, it's only three days

                  Goodnight all

                    Morning denizens

After a blustery and rather rainy night, the wind has eased a fair bit. There are still more torn-up scraps of cloud overlaying the sky than there are gaps for the sun to get through, so the light goes up and down as and when a thin patch gets in the right place as it's blown along. It's 13°C ("feels like" 8°) with a high of 15° later, though that will be accompanied by more rain, which is likely to show up through the afternoon and into tonight. The barometers are back down a bit at 999/1007mB

                      Morning.

                      Tuesday.

                      Wet.

                      Grey.

                      Sunless.

Cooler in here at 17.8 deg, 18.5 in the kitchen, 16.5 in the leanto.

1006.5 mBar, 29.722 in Hg, 754.94 Torr, 14.598 psi, (up from 1006 last night), 67% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 19th of January 2020 LM greeted the assembled congregation with "good morning my lovelies" much to Brillo's alarm, BR14 alleged it was sunny where he was, I roasted beef & cooked a rice pud so it must have been a Sunday, Scruff popped in and alleged the sun had his hat on at 16:24 (just about sunset), NF's Lithuanian neighbours were hanging out the washing despite it being 5 deg, and he eventually got around to brunch at 17:35, not wishing to rush these things.

Freecell score in the ongoing deluge: 93%, running average: 82%.

                      Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: some programme about septic stikes & strikers. Land of the free & all that. .

                      Book. Next book.

Tea: Tesco battered haddock (or maybe cod). Nice enough.

Rescued the tools from down in the garage & brought them up now the deluge has returned.

Amazingly the place isn't flooded. Yet.

Entertainment: PM. For some unknown & unknowable reason I thought The News Quiz was on at 18:30 only to find, to my surprise, that it's Tuesday & it wasn't. The writing is on the wall.

Last 20 minutes of "Goodbye Christopher Robin (2017)". Always gets me.

Thing about Sigourney Weaver at 20:00.

Thing about making a submarine out of carbon fibre rather than a titanium sphere. Not a terrifically good idea as it transpired. Cylinders being rather weaker than spheres.

The last hour or so of "The Day of the Jackal (1973)". Rather good in its way.
