Funny, got 2 letters in last few days addressing me as Mis. I didn't think I'd had a gender reassignment.

Lost me binoculars and can't figure out how, they are great big things I never take out the house, just use at my office window to look at birds and things down the garden.

PS No I ain't been spying on me lady neighbours, they are both extremely old & wrinkly.

There was the usual run of wildlife stuff on the box today

And this evening, I started reading Bad Call: A Summer Job on a New York Ambulance by Mike Scardino, his memoir of the several years in the late 1960s that he worked said job to fund his university studies

            Morning all, local time 0952

The sunshine continues unabated. Currently 7 degrees with a high of 18 expected. Barometer down to 1009 mBar.

            Sunrise 06:29; Sunset 17:58

Yesterday had a lovely wander about. Went to the Story of Prague museum which was actually very interesting despite looking somewhat sketchy from the outside. Floor 1 is about the early kings and rulers. Floor 2 is about WW2 and communism, and floor 3 is about the post communism period up to current (ish) times. For £13 each it was a good 90 mins or so of information that was quite well presented in a very limited space.

Then we wandered through the very busy old town (bloody tourists) to our favourite absinth bar for a restorative beverage before lunch.

We started our evening in the cocktail bar next to our hotel (excellent drinks and service with the six cocktails we had only costing about £45). Then onto a restaurant that's a bit tapas style where you pay for the number of sticks you collect. Each stick was 33 CKR. Lots of gins to choose from if that's your tipple of choice. It was a good dinner choice for us as lunch was very filling.

              Morning.

              Sunday.

Last night was worse than the previous night. .

              Dry.

              Sunny.

              Blue sky.

Chilly in here at 15 deg, 13 deg in the kitchen, 13.5 in the leanto.

998 mBar, 29.47 in Hg, 748.56 Torr, 14.4747 psi, (down from 1000 last night), 63% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 31st of december 2019 I'd had a bad night, the guinea fowl had survived and were flapping about on the lawn, there were 6 pillars of CUK, and Brillo had watched some film/programme whatever (Christine Keeler apparently) and reckoned LM would like one scene in particular.

              Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: the thing that wasn't Just A Minute. Mildly amusing.

              TWTW.

Now to do the dishes: I may be some time. .

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine. Quite warm out there.

Entertainment: last half hour of Morse S1 E3 "Service of all the dead". Apparently the baddy in this disappeared sometime in the 1990s & has never been found.

Highway Patrol S8 E1. More NZ road policing. They seem so polite. New Year's Day: lots of drinking. Not so many drunk drivers.

              Tea: beans on toast etc.

              15 seconds of Farmageddon.

Digging for Britain on Blaze: oddly not an Ancient Alien in sight nor a Richard Doty. Crimson as it transpires.

Viking Dead. Treasure. The oak island nutjobs have missed out on this: not a Templar to be seen.

Alien Encounters: declassified. More ufo bollox. Close encounters from I to VII.

                Morning denizens

Bit late today, though not because I slept in - I've been up since about half eight. But I got sidetracked sorting out some bits and bobs in the kitchen, because I have to take advantage of any vague enthusiasm for boring chores while it's active

It's a nice sunny day with some thin wisps of cloud here and there. Mild too, being 8°C when I arose, up to 12° now, and aiming for a high of 16°. The barometers are down a bit more though, at 992/1000mB

Looks like the nice weather won't last, with a few frosty nights forecast for the coming week

Afternoon and evening viewing, before tea, was No Direction Home part 1 on iPlayer, Scorsese's film about Bob Dylan's early career

No further telly but I read some more of Bad Call, the 1960s NY ambulance guy's memoir. "What often bother me more than seeing how people die is seeing how they live."

Monday again tomorrow. It's only been four days off, but it feels a lot longer

                      Goodnight all
