Yesterday's walk with loony lady 3 pretty ghastly. Apart from her infernal yacking she was really slow due to bad back. Need someone a lot fitter than my 2 loony ladies.

If everything isn't black and white, I say, 'Why the hell not?'

Morning all, still in Sussex
Blue sky with occasional lumps of fluff. Damp from overnight rain. Colder today at 7 degrees currently and a high of 10. Rain expected overnight. Barometer at 1016 mBar.
Plumbers have been let in and are getting on with their doings. Mum has been fed a bit of breakfast.Last edited by ladymuck; 27 November 2024, 11:10.Comment

Morning.
Tuesday.
Dry.
Sunny.
Blue sky.
Chilly in here at 13.5 deg, 12 deg in the kitchen, 10 deg in the leanto.
1011 mBar, 29.854 in Hg, 758.3 Torr, 14.663315 psi, (untapped & it certainly wasn't 988), 57% RH (Lidl electric: dehumidifier on for an hour).
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine. Quite chilly out there.
Meanwhile on the 4th of December 2019 everyone was after the 4 hour hiatus, whereas NF was making soup.
Lunch: brunch.
Entertainment: Y&Y waffling about scams <click>. Dehumidifier rattling away: more inneresting.
Shopping trip to Aldi & Tesco done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away. I fell off the wagon & bought some dates from Aldi. Well there's still some left. .
Freecell score: 75%, running average: 80%.
Tea: Tesco battered haddock etc. Nice enough.
Entertainment: NAZI search thing: rocket engineers: our dear old Wernher starred.
UFO bollox about some incident at Edwards AFB in the 1960s.
Some R4 thing about films & stuff.
Freecell score: 100%, running average: 80%.
The Bad Skin Clinic: chap with a lipoma above his left eye: easy peasy despite a previoius doctor saying it could affect his eye. WTF? Lady in a wheelchair with rheumatoid athritis with "pyoderma gangrenosum" on her foot, except it's a venous ulcer: weening her off the steroids & trying hyperbaric oxygen. Chap with a port wine birth mark on his face: he & his other half are tattooed. Very tattooed: lasered. Lady with rosacea: isotretinoin.
Shooter S1 E7, E8. More .338 goodness.
I have a curious desire to purchase a Weihrauch HW45 pistol. Then again there's 4 that haven't seen a pellet in years that are already here, including an Anshutz 250.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 27 November 2024, 23:50.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Lunch was a bacon bap (white)
I haven't been busy today, as the chap who knows what he's doing and is supposed to be passing this wisdom on to me is off sick. I've been asking questions of a chap on the service we're supposed to be working with, and he's been responding a couple of hours later when he has time, and then I'm able to make a one or two line edit to some documentation. I've tried asking the rest of the team if they have anything I can help with, via Slack, and have received no response
In the meantime, I'd finally decided that having the washing machine and fridge from the old flat taking up most of my little storeroom downstairs was stupid, and I should find new homes for them. I checked Freecycle and there were people asking for both, so I let them know.
The woman asking for a washing machine started being a bit fussy; how do I know it still works after two years, can she have photos, and all that. I popped down at lunchtime and hauled everything out of there so I could take some photos, which turned out to be worth doing anyway as I've got the space more neatly organised now - things had originally just been shoved in there as and when I brought them over. Then it turned out you can't include photos in messages, so I had to upload them somewhere and send her a URL. No response to that yet; if she doesn't get back to me soon, there's somebody else posted wanting one this morning, who perhaps won't be such a fusspot
Meanwhile, the chap looking for a fridge was just "I can come at these times, do I need to bring help get it down any stairs" and so on. I'd checked it while I was down there and it needs a bit of a clean. So I've arranged for him to come and get it on Thursday evening, to give me time to spruce it up. Much less hassleComment

In fact, the washing machine woman stated in her "wanted" post that she could get it collected. This lulled me into a false sense of security - I thought she'd be the easy one to deal withComment

I found time to do some more mucking around with Swift and Bluesky stuff until, inevitably, I got bogged down on something and gave up for now
Then to reading: I resumed Shepperton Babylon: The Lost Worlds of British Cinema, in which Ealing Studios is getting off to a very shaky start but is about to be saved by the arrival of Gracie Fields and George Formby
Wednesday tomorrow! Get through that and I only have to get through Thursday!
