LL1 couldn't make the moosick thing so went for a solo wonky when the rain died down a bit. Just been doing some boring investment things.

Tea has been brought to me from the South Indian restaurant past the park. Very nice, and a few leftovers to nibble on over the next couple of daysComment

Breezy out. Took Max for a big walk earlier, and based on the forecast I’ll be doing th same tomorrow.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Today brought the usual Monkey Life plus other wildlife stuff
And this evening, I read a chunk more of Nuclear War: A Scenario in which we're just over forty minutes in and Washington DC is no more, Pyongyang will shortly be no more, and the Russians really need to calm down
In the midst of all this, I somehow found time to get a login flow to Bluesky working in a SwiftUI app. I suppose I'd better make it do something useful with this power next
More Monkey Life tomorrow morning, so I'd better get to sleep
Goodnight allComment

Morning denizens
Grey, very windy, occasionally rainy day out. Still a lot warmer than it's been though, being 14°C and maybe reaching 15° later. The barometers have plummeted to 976/983mBComment

Morning all, Berlin calling, local time 1016
Cloudy. Currently 8 degrees with a high of 12 expected. No rain forecast. Barometer at 1013 mBar.
Yesterday was rather frosty and cold with a stiff breeze. Got caught in a light hail stone shower late evening when walking back to the hotel from a bar we'd spent the night in.
Berlin has been lovely; first time here and can see me coming back.
Heading back home this evening.Last edited by ladymuck; 24 November 2024, 09:23.Comment

Good morning. Lawn is still covered with snow. But it's 4°C and expected to reach 11. Tomorrow rain and 15°C.
The mincemeat for the mince pies is in the oven, melting. This year, because I can no longer import real suet, I'm using vegetarian. It smells ok so far. I do have a recipe using real meat, but started too late this year. I need to set an alarm.
Oh... time to take the mincemeat out of the oven and add the calvados. I know it's early, but have to make sure it's good quality.
This afternoon, the gym. I've been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my sacroileac joint. Physio and certain exercises helps. But I'm so young! Growing old sucks. Youth is wasted on the young. What's nice is my health insurance pay half my gym membership, and my employer pays the other half. And it's tax deductable!Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

^^^ Can you hear it going "clunk" now & again when sitting down? I find it most disturbing. Then again I was listening to my neck going "clunk" in a bookshop last week when I was reading the titles on the shelves. Even more disturbing. Youth is wasted on the young.
Morning.
Sunday.
Grey.
Dark.
Dank.
Dreary.
Sunless.
Wet.
Cold in here at 13.1 deg, 12.5 in the kitchen, 12.5 in the leanto.
988 mBar (rose a mBar when tapped), 29.175 in Hg, 741 Torr, 14.329 psi, (unchanged), 67% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 4th of December 2019 it was bright, shiny, & cold around here, BR14's significant other's parent was still in hospital but much better, opm was hoping to knock off early to avoid the football traffic, whereas covbob was on the skool run and it was cold, WTFH, on the other hand, was setting up stuff to WFH, which would prove to be essential within a couple or three months or so.
Lunch: brunch: how much more fibre can a man eat? Just askin' like. .
Entertainment: thing about Ridley Scott on R4 after die te die finished (only turned on for the closing theme thank feck) which has led to much exploration of "Blade Runner (1982)" and "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (1968)". There's even a mumsnet thread on it. . Not venturing there.
Freecell score: 88%, running average: 80%.
Tea: there was tea.
Entertainment: Elmore Leonard on PBS. I've seen it before but WTH.
Am Dro. Walk from Swansea Docks over Kilvey Hill to White Rock. Walk around Dolaucothi where the gold mine used to be. Walk around Corris. Walk around Llanrug to Llanberis. They didn't mention the explosion of 5 tons of nitro in the 1860s.
Royal Autopsy with that Alice Roberts: who are we cutting up this week? Queen Anne. 17 pregnancies with no surviving children. Bummer.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 24 November 2024, 22:21.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment
