Hey NickFitz the book drop off on Weds won't be happening after all. The friend I'm meeting that day wants to meet in Kingston which makes the logistics a bit tricky for a post work meeting time.

I got an email from Amazon the other week telling me that a new 10th anniversary edition of the trilogy has just been publishedComment

Lunch earlier was M&S honey & mustard cocktail sausages with a bag of plain crisps. And tea now has been steak & Guinness pie with chips
I made the pie filling overnight in the slow cooker, then let it cool and develop its flavours through the day, and it turned out very nicelyComment

Tonight's first medical stuff was Saving Lives in Cardiff on iPlayer, in which members of the public were hacked at in various ways, successfully so in all cases
And then some old episodes of 24 Hours in A&E
Finally, down at MI5, Peter Wright is moving on from trying to prove his (now retired) boss is a Soviet agent to the more pressing matter of trying to bring down Harold Wilson's government
Tomorrow, I expect to start the process of undoing much of what has been done over the last eighteen months of work
Goodnight allComment

Morning denizens
Patchy cloud out with a reasonable amount of sunlight making its way through the thin patches, and a light breeze. Reasonably warm at 15°C with 23° planned for later. The barometers are steady at 1005/1013mBComment

Morning.
Tuesday.
Wanly sunny.
Vaguely dry.
Blue sky in small parts.
Cool in here at 18.8 deg, 20.5 in the kitchen, 18 deg in the leanto.
1010.5 mBar, 29.84 in Hg, 757.937 Torr, 14.656 psi, (down from 1012 last night), 73% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 5th of November 2019 there were many fireworks let off though quieter than the previous night, the bonfire went well consuming the detritus, LM related the tale of her exploding pumpkin, NF related the tale of being pulled out of the way of the descending flaming rocket debris, and assorted eps of "I, Claudius" and BTVS were enjoyed once the conflagrations had died down a bit.
Shopping trip to Tesco done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away. Found a 1/4W 5/16W oe spanner on the way back. Not a lot of call for those these days.
Lunch: there was lunch.
Entertainment: Y&Y <click>
Fringe S2 E9: the worms one, ideal lunchtime viewing. E10, E11, E12, E13, E14, E15, E16, E17, E18: note that the unshown S1 Ep "Unearthed" isn't amongst these: presumably an extra buried in the last dvd.
Tea: beans with little sausages except these were full size dog sausages that I bought for no readily apparent reason, terminal source of indigestion but I suppose they'll last a while.

Morning all
Cloudy with intermittent breaks. Currently 22 degrees with a high of 24 expected. Barometer has dropped back down to 1015 mBar.
As HWMBO is actually delivering his course in central London for a change, I tagged along to his hotel last night and had a nice cooked breakfast this morning (not a euphemism). I'm now back at home looking for that elusive next gig and will meet him in the Oliver Conquest later today before we go for dinner.

Lunch has been some M&S mini sausage rolls
The meeting in London tomorrow is still happening but due to difficulty finding a meeting room at such short notice, it won't be in the Old Admiralty Building this time - we've been relegated to some spare space in a DWP office block on Tothill Street
But on the bright side, the department is OK with me taking a few weeks off after this thing is shut down, so I should have a relaxing SeptemberComment
